Organist wanted: St Mary’s Fen Ditton
St Mary’s Fen Ditton would like to appoint a liturgically-sensitive and
imaginative organist to enhance Sunday mornings for a congregation that wants
to deepen its prayer. Stability, reliability, and a sense of humour are essential.
Sunday services are at 10.30am, excepting the last Sunday of the month which is a
joint 10.00am service circulating between Fen Ditton, Horningsea and
Teversham. There are opportunities to develop the worshipping life of Fen
Ditton with the parish priest. The PCC is offering a good fee per Sunday service.
The successful musician will need a DBS check and references in line with the
Church of England’s ‘Safer Recruitment’ policy.
For an informal conversation, please call the Rev’d Dr Alun Ford on 07747 611465
before the end of February.
Ely Cathedral Octagon Singers (ECOS)
ECOS is Ely Cathedral’s voluntary choir. It is an integral part of the Cathedral’s musical life, singing at Choral Evensong, Sunday Eucharist, and many special services, and appearing often in the Cathedral’s busy concert calendar.
Members (aged 18 or over) are experienced amateur singers and standards are high. There is no regular weekly rehearsal: most preparation is done on the day of a service. The attendance requirement is flexible, allowing singers to sign up for commitments as they choose.
