Postponement of Ely Festival

Although the 2020 Ely Festival could not take place, plans are being made to reschedule it for 2021. It also clear that the Festival planned for September 2020 at Kings College Cambridge will also have to be rescheduled.

The Ely RSCM Committee is keen to hear from choirs and musicians as we all work to resume our musical activities.

Advice on live streaming

From Jan Payne, Hon Bishop’s Adviser for Music

First, my thoughts and prayers are with you all at this most difficult time when church, as we each know it, has been put on hold. Although we are no longer able to gather together to worship, I am aware quite a few churches are looking to live stream their services and some to include live music which may, or may not require a license.

CCLI now provides a supplemental licence (for a fee) to allow you to live stream music as part of worship.

The RSCM has produced a very concise statement about licenses for live-streaming if you plan to do so – follow the link below. Please make sure whoever in your church is looking after any online worship is aware about music.

Thank you and best wishes to you all.
